Built for Euro 2016 and privately financed by Lyon; the ground hosts concerts and rugby outside the football season.

Groupama Stadium has been the home of Olympique Lyonnais since 2016, and holds 59,186 spectators for football. The playing surface is hybrid grass, and the record attendance of 58,000 was set in a fixture that still gets talked about in Lyon.

For a matchday, the ground sits in Lyon and is served by local rail and bus routes; arriving 45 minutes before kick-off is the difference between a queue and a seat. Away supporters are usually housed in one corner block, and the atmosphere is loudest behind the goal at the home end.
